Community radio stations have a limited number of strategic options, which gives them great freedom. They are a community organisation that require the financial disciplines of a small business. I believe that the primary objectives of any community radio station are:
1. Increase the number of members and the number of participating members. If we don’t grow, we die;
2. Increase the number of on air shows, particularly CALD or Special interest shows;
3. Actively engage with the local community in all it’s various forms, but particularly giving voice to those demographics who find it difficult to get a voice in conventional, ratings driven media.
